Lord, make me an instrument of Thy peace;
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
Where there is injury, pardon;
Where there is error, the truth;
Where there is doubt, the faith;
Where there is despair, hope;
Where there is darkness, light;
And where there is sadness, joy.

O Divine Master,
Grant that I may not so much seek
To be consoled, as to console;
To be understood, as to understand;
To be loved, as to love;
To be seen, as to see;
To receive approval, as to give approval;
To receive attention, as to be attentive;
To receive connection, as to give support or space;
To be seen as worthy of lasting relationship, as to remain loyal;
To be encouraged, as to encourage;
To be respected, as to respect;
To be taken seriously, as to take seriously;
To be seen as significant, as to see as significant;
To be seen as praiseworthy, as to see as praiseworthy;
To be seen as capable, as to see as capable;
To be seen as lovable, as to see as lovable;
To be seen as intelligent, as to see as intelligent;
To be seen as right, as to allow different opinions;
To take control, as to empower;
To make a case against, as to trust;
To receive justice, as to be merciful;
To be treated gently, as to be gentle.

For it is in giving that we receive;
It is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
It is in dying that we are born to eternal life. Amen.
