Looking for advice on chastity from a Catholic perspective regardless of your state of life? In this episode, top Theology of the Body evangelist, Christopher West, explains how an improper view of Catholic teaching on human sexuality can elicit rebellious reactivity, whereas understanding Pope St. John Paul II’s Theology of the Body can inspire joyful excitement about chastity. Using analogies about diet, West explains how we can go from a diet of sexual starvation to feeling satisfied, regardless of one’s state in life, simply by correcting our view on sexual morality and acting accordingly.

In this episode, besides sharing his own inspirational story from sexual promiscuity to purity, Christopher West tells us:

  • How his presentation of the Theology of the Body has changed since Naked without Shame
  • How he fell for the “fast food gospel” when he was young as a reaction to the “starvation diet gospel”
  • How Theology of the Body is an invitation to a banquet
  • What the difference is between eros and pornea
  • How he chose and developed his speaking style
  • Why he talks about popular music and media so much
  • How when we sin, we are actually looking for something good
  • What’s wrong with pornography
  • The role of knowing the difference between using and loving in pure Christian courtship
  • How a person is indispensable, irreplaceable and unrepeatable
  • How chastity orients erotic desire towards upholding the dignity of the human person
  • Why anyone would become a priest or religious if the marital embrace is so beautiful
